Becoming a Catholic

Do you know someone who might be interested in becoming a Catholic?

Are you an adult Catholic who has not been Confirmed?

Would you simply like to participate in a no-strings-attached religious discussion group?

The process for joining the Church, or preparing for Confirmation as an adult, is called the Rite for the Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The RCIA programme is run by a group of lay-people. We hold weekly meetings at which we discuss a Bible-passage and a particular religious topic under the leadership of one of our members. Anybody who is simply interested in religious discussion is welcome to join us for one or more meetings, just as they choose. The meetings are usually held on Wednesdays, beginning in September and end in May the following year. Meetings will take place in the Mary MacKillop Room (in Donegal Street, opposite the church grounds) and will run from 7.30 to 9pm.

An information-meeting for interested people will be held in the Conference Room (which is adjacent to the altar in the church, and there is an outside entrance).

For further information contact the parish office.
